5.4 2v swap in 99-04 mustang gt

Postby clintcobra » Sun Aug 28, 2016 11:16 pm

hey guys, very new to the tuning world so here it goes. i would like to do a 5.4 2v swap on a 99-04 mustang gt. the mods i would like to do are: patriot stage 2 heads, comp cams 270's, pro products intake manifold, long tubes made to work with fab work done by me, h pipe, 3 inch catback, aje k member, 373's, 30lb injectors, i am unsure of maf. to run with the setup. will the special forces tuning software get this setup running safely, and will i be able to tweak the tune after wide band install to nail a solid tune down? this car will be passed down to my 10 year old son when he hits 16. thanks for any and all help guys,
Clint

Unfortunately, this is well beyond the Special Forces software from nailing down a solid tune. There are unsupported modifications that the SF software doesn't support such as patriot stage 2 heads, comp cams 270's. You would need the Commando software to tackle this project. With that in mind, It will give you full control over the Ford pcm. It gives you access to all the parameters an will allow you to adjust as much as you want. However, unlike the Special Forces software the Commando software will not ask you any questions. It assumes you know what you need to do and gives you the access to do it. Since this package comes with the Special Forces software you will be able to create a "base" or "starter" tune within minutes. From there you can load the performance tune created by Special Forces into the Commando/Delta Force software and see exactly how that file was made. You will be able to see what parameters were modified as well as compare it side by side with the stock file. After that you can just make any additional changes. This option will give you full control over the pcm with the parameters that are available.
