ERROR CODE 1017

Postby 07BlkStangGT » Sun Sep 02, 2007 2:00 pm

History:

I had my software installed on a different computer, did my stock read and saved it in comp.

Since then, my comp crashed, hard drive yucked up. Bought a Sony VAIO, reloaded software and drivers, re-read the tunes that were still in the interface and saved them to the new comp.

Now when I open SFG to load a saved tune or start a new one, after putting in my box code , it says :cannot open file for this box code error 1017:

I placed my stockfrom the interface back to the original files folder, but it still doesn't recognize the box code.

Any Help?

the SF install must be corrupt cuz it cant findthe template and/or stock pcm. uninstall reinstall and make sure your stock pcm is located in C:\Program Files\Sniper Performance\Original Files and C:\Program Files\Sniper Performance\Customer Reads

OK, I uninstalled then reinstalled SF. While the interface is connected to the personal comp, the stock files show up in the Customer reads and Original folders. As soon I disconnect the interface or go in through the file manager, the stock file no longer shows up.

When I open the multiloader program, all the tunes that are in the interface, show up on the multiloader screen.

When I try to start a new tune or fine tune an existing tune, it will allow me to put in my box code, as soon as I try to switch automatic to manual, I get an error message "could not open file for this box code" error 1017.

Also, I have tried to go back and return my car to stock, my stock tune is currently in position 5, because I did read a 2nd car. Anyway, when I load my stock tune back to my car, the car won't start.

In the meantime, could you guys send me a stock tune for an 07 Mustang GT manual tranny?

try this, Disable User account Control.

1. Open Control Panel.
2. Under User Account and Family settings click on the "Add or remove user account".
Image
3. Click on one of the user accounts, for example you can use the Guest account.
4. Under the user account click on the "Go to the main User Account page" link.
Image
5. Under "Make changes to your user account" click on the "Change security settings" link.
Image
6. In the "Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure" click to unselect the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Click on the Ok button.
Image
7. You will be prompted to reboot your computer. Do so when ready.
Image
**In order to re-enable UAC just select the above checkbox and reboot.**

Jugg, you are the man!!!!!!!!! Did what you said about disabling the UAC, worked like a charm, You might wanna put this one on your FAQ thread. Do you still want me to send the box code and orig tune?

;) glad to see i aint a computer technician for nothing. Now only if i can have the other gentleman in this thread follow the instructions correctly. He must be missing something. Also if its working correctly now and you can write your tune i have no need to get you to send me your files. we have solved the issue after all :D and ill see if i can make this a stick or if some one would give me mod status i could do it my self

Few things you need to check that are correct.

1. Make sure the stock file is in the "Original Files" folder
2. Make sure the "Original Files" folder is in the Delta Force Tuning folder.
3. Make sure the stock file is the correct size (112kb, 224kb, 448kb, 531kb, 1024kb, etc..)
4. Make sure you're typing in the correct code for the computer box code in the SF software. It will be the middle four digits that are in the stock file name.
5. Make sure you have the required template in the "Templates" or "TRM Files" folder. The template name will be the first 5-digits of the stock file name.
