? about sniper delta force tuning

Post by 331n2o66stang » Tue Oct 02, 2007 9:06 pm

i have a 97 mustang full pi swap all the bolt ons there is out there...anyways i was wondering when using the sniper in the fuel system section....my car is stock fuel system and its return style...would i leave it on the stock setting or change it ...the settings just give you 2...one stock one set up for return style...?ive used it a bunch for diffrent things and seems to work for the most part...but ive always leave it on stock for the fuel system...any1 out there think it should be diffrent?and one more thing...in the fine tuning section...where all your fuel trims and timing adjustments are....why doesnt it work?well its like everytime i load up a saved tuning file ...when i go to the fine tuning sections...everything i changed stays on (stock)???wtf?if thats not working then they shouldnt have even put it on there?i have tried it a million times and it always goes back to stock?...any1 else have this problem...thanks

Just to clarify, it sounds like you are using Special Forces, not Delta Force. There is a big difference between the two. What happens after you make the changes in the fine tuning section? Does it prompt you to save the file? If so, are you datalogging to verify the changes haven't been made? Do you have an air/fuel meter?

I think you are seeing the software do what it is designed to do. Let's see if I understand what you are seeing....

1. you make a tune with changes to fuel/spark and save it
2. after datalogging you decide to change some more
3. after you load your last tune into SF you see all timing/fuel set back to stock

Is that right? If so, the program is doing as designed. It does this so that you dont compound your changes and to help prevent people from making very bad changes by going outside what SF will allow for changes.

hope that helps,
Ed

Great post, as I was curious about the same thing.

Also it sounds like the original poster just has a narrowband A/F... There just light shows, grab a wideband so you know what your exact A/F ratio is.
