I think you meant values less than 1. I understand how it works; it's a multiplier, and fractional multipliers reduce the value of the product re: the multiplicand.
The legend should be changed to perhaps "<1.0 to lean" and ">1.0 to richen", having the negative and positive labels, and then having no negative or positive values is confusing...
actually what pat said makes sense
you have lets say 15:1afr comanded you multiply this with .9 you are now 10% ritcher as your desired afr is now 13.5:1
