Anyone tunned a Turbo yet?

Post by heelflip101 » Fri Aug 31, 2007 12:19 pm

I was wondering if anyone had tuned a after market turbo with special forces? I have been sourcing parts for a turbo build and want to make sure that its been done before, and works well.

Thats great! Do you know what engine and turbo he had? Did you use special forces as a base tune or was the tune really close?

Wow I just reread that, the a/f ratio is really conservative. What boost level was that at?

It's not an I4 but I've had great luck with our twin turbo'd 2V 02 Mustang GT. I ditched a brand-x chip for an SF tune and the driveability improved greatly. We have refined a few items using Commando but nothing major was required. 8-)

that was with the base tune that SF made, the motor was stock with 13 psi I think, we tweaked it in Delta Force I think it ended up at 230 and change

Thats really good news. It should be safe to drive and boost for a while untill I can get some dyno time right? I can run it pretty hard with such a safe air-fuel ratio right?

Yeah, as long as you answer the questions honestly in Special Forces, the tune that gets created will be safe.

Wot is the big difference, between tuning for the turbo, VS. a blower?

Thanks

a supercharger with a set boost level is easier to tune for because it is always the same boost at WOT.... turbo can do alot of things at wot so it takes a bit more work to do it right but if you are creative you can develop tunes that automatically fuel and pull timing at various boost levels.
