Sup guys

Post by ELVATO » Tue Jul 24, 2007 5:15 pm

Figured the Expy was "truck" enough to go in this forum :)

Another forum to come to :) How you guys doing at Sniper? I'm the guy with the white Expedition. The tune is treating me good :) Now I need to get a Magnaflow muffler to complement the intake.

Hope to see you guys soon. :)

Nice layout, matches my computer theme.

Doing good. Posted in the Recon section :)

Using the diagnostics, I cleared out a "Surpassed Speed/Rev Limiter" code I didn't know I had. I wonder how that got there

It was a highway at 1 AM. 2.5 miles of straight road, and no cars. So yea, real secure.

BTW, anyone in Florida who wants a nice LONG straight stretch of road, check out Highway 27. Completely flat and straight for at least 30 miles. BTW, this isn't where I did mine.

I was thinking that my next possible "mod" might be something to do with exhaust. How much performance (throttle response, HP) could one get from a cat-back? Say....from Magnaflow. Also, I've heard of people just swapping out their stock mufflers for some after-market ones.

The cheaper option obviously seems to be the muffler only route. How much more performance can be received from a cat-back, and is the price difference worth it?

Also, from the Expeditionforum, it seems that changing out the Y-pipe might be a good idea as well. What are the dimensions of the stock pipe?

Sorry if these are too many questions. Matt, maybe you can help me out here

The exhaust has some room for improvement but be careful... it is a delecate balance of torque (part throttle response anyway) vs max exhaust flow especially on a heavy truck with a 4.6. I recommend only changing the muffler and staying with the stock 2 3/4 tailpipe. the y pipe is actually dual 2.5 into a single 3.
You've seen my Y-pipe....LOL

Just ordered a Maggy muffler. Hopefully it'll be here by Monday, and maybe I can get it installed then, or the next day, depending at what time UPS gets here.

I'll be sure to post a sound clip

The Y pipe, though cheap, would apparently take two hours to install, or so said the guy. Sooooo, I guess that'll wait. :(
