97 GT with Paxton Supercharger

Post by jagcar74 » Sat Feb 24, 2018 5:40 pm

I'm new to this software. I have a 97 mustang GT with a Paxton Novi 2000 on it. I'm wondering if anybody has ever done any tunning with a Paxton or similar supercharger. I need some advice on what needs to be changed other then fuel and timing. Thanks.

If you use our Special Forces tuning software then you will just need to know what modifications the car has. Special Forces software will ask you a bunch of questions and you just click on the right answer. Based on that, the software will adjust fuel and timing. After that, you do have the ability to tweak fuel and timing some. Keep in mind, selecting the wrong answers will cause the software to make a poor tune. For example, if your car has 42# injectors and you select that is has 60# injectors then the tune will not perform well.

Thanks for the reply Chris. I got my car running with a base tune. Would it be possible to run a stock 03 04 Terminator tune on my car? Then I could compare my tune to the Terminator tune.

Unfortunately, since the Terminator has a different calibration you would not be able to put that tune in your vehicle.

I did some digging and found out it the injectors I have do not work with the fuel curve the base tune is trying to create. I have the commando software. Has anyone been able to get the 60# Siemens deka injectors (FI114961) to work right?

There shouldn't be any issues with those injectors. Is there a problem with your tune? Is the vehicle not running right?
Unfortunately the 96-97 ecm's were very finicky as far as getting a good idle and performance. It's almost like you get one or the other.

Yes, It starts and at idle it's really rich and starts loading up. If I give it some gas it will lean out a bit. I tried to richen it up with the base tune but no luck. Is there a work around to get the rich idle fixed?

I'm guessing your response was written wrong. If it's loading up at idle, you don't want to richen the fuel. You need to lean the fuel.
If you haven't already, In the fine tuning section of Special Forces, make these changes:

Global Fuel Modifier PT - choose .5
Global Fuel Modifier FT - choose .5

These are the most lean the software will do so take caution when you drive the car.

Your right I need to lean it out. Thanks for the help. I will try that tonight and let you know what happens.

I tried what you said. I didn't change. So I pulled up the tune in commando and found that the idle fueling was still programmed very rich. I Leaned it out that way. For some reason the base tune will not go lean enough for the set up I have.

Can you email me the tune that works best (even though still rich) so I can take a look at it? Email to: snipertuned@yahoo.com
Also, please reference this conversation so I know what to do.
