How To Disable Traction Control

Post by Tector » Thu Nov 08, 2007 2:27 pm

I know traction control can be disabled using SF. I would like to do the same thing using Commando. Does anyone know how to do that?

I don´t have my commando activated yet, but you can open the file in SF (could be any other file) change that param then save the file and open it in commando and should be disabled now

If you go into scalars, theres a Traction control switch, set that to 0.

Thanks! I saw the switch, but I wasn't sure if just setting that to 0 was all I needed to do. The tune I have didn't come out of SF so there was no way to disable traction control using SF.

if you have commando, start with your stock file and make a tune with the SF software that disables the TC. Then you can view the changes by comparing it to your stock file in commando.

I tried that Matt, but the two tunes were identical. I marked the changes and looked every single parameter. It's not that big of a deal. I can always push the button, and with winter here it's probably a good idea to leave traction control on.

Oddly enough, the traction control stayed on. I wouldn't have noticed it, but I was trying to get up my snow covered driveway. Punching the traction control button let me spin the tires.

Well I have repeatedly loaded in Tunes where I checked for the Traction Control in my Special Forces to be disabled into my 2007 Mustang and yet to have it disable it.

Which is really frustrating because when your waiting in Line at the track and trying to keep your car cool.. Repeatedly shutting the car off and turning it back on.. My brain keeps forgetting to Turn it off.. And I waste my pass!!!

Don't get me wrong I Love the product... It has benefits that no other tuner does.

Anybody having similar problems with this on their S197's?

Disabling traction control doesn't work for me in my 98 Mark VIII either.

Same here guys....No parameter in scalars (in my current template) :(

It is a pain when in the staging lanes....moving up, shutting off, etc, etc. I have trained myself now.......last fire-up, before rolling out.....PUSH THE BUTTON YOU IDIOT :D

on the newer PPC vehicles you need to set the manifold volume to 0

be careful there are 2 manifold volume settings one of them will be a value like 11 that one do not change

the other one will be a decimal value like .6 or .3 change that one to 0

this will deactivate the TC

Maybe you could throw us a bone here Pat, and tell us where we find the intake manifold volume parameter that needs to be changed. I found the "intake manifold volume for use in manifold filling model" which I'm pretty sure is the parameter we don't want to change.

The displacment in liters wil do the same thing. Set it to like 2.0 liters and walla, no traction control.

Why would changing the displacement in liters set TC to off?

Good question, and if it setting the displacement to 2.0L is an acceptable method of disabling the t/c then I guess the displacement selection as far as having anything to do withthe tune is just an "eye-wash"?

And it's voila`, not "walla"

Has anyone had any luck with setting the displacement in liters to 2.0? I tried it and it did absolutely nothing. I only have SF, so is it a commando thing? Any other suggestions?

TC will not turn off on PPC ecu's 2005 and newer using the SF, when he suggested setting the displacement that was setting it in the commando /delta force software.
traction control has been addressed in the new SF update which hopefully wont be much longer.
