After Market Wiring Harness

Post by Bsquared66 » Fri Mar 04, 2016 3:06 pm

I have a 66 mustang that i am currently swapping in a 1997 mark viii 4.6. I will be finishing the wiring in the next few weeks. I am using a Ron Francis wiring harness. I bought a Special Forces tuning kit a few years back because i knew i needed it to remove PATS and tune for some of the mods I have made. Have you ever seen any configuration like this? I have some concerns like that all the necessary connections to the DLC connector might not be there. The pins on the DLC connector I know are in use are 2 16 10 13 4 and 5. I know that there are other pins used by ford and am wondering if any of those are needed to program the PCM. Is this all that is needed? Also, hopefully there will be no issues using such and old fashioned keyed ignition system.

I'm showing pins 4-5-6-13-14-16 are needed.
The "old fashioned" keyed ignition should be fine.

So that means the flashing is done through the Can bus 6&14 and not with the SPC bus pins 2&10?

I'm sorry. I told you wrong in my last comment. That was for the Can bus system. You were right. For the eec-v style pcm's (96-some 04) the pinouts used would be 2-4-5-10-13-1. The flashing is done through 2 & 10.
