Delta Force / Commando Training

Postby geoffav » Tue Jul 24, 2007 2:50 pm

Do you guys have plans for training workshops???

That would be great for some of us rookies. I would be interested in that or a good book on tuning strategies. I really like knowing how to do things right and there just ain't that much info out there. This Forum will help with my education. 8-)

Is this a one day thing?

How much notice do you need? I normally have to plan things at lease 6 weeks out. 8-)

Depends on you , 1-2 days is normal. we will go over the Delta Force software and if there is a vehicle here we can get some live dyno sessions in.

I'll have to free up my schedule some. Sounds good.

Have you guys done any hot rods that use Ford EEC-V boxes. I'm building a 35 Chevy that was a modified oval track car back in the day. It will be street driven and the drivetrain will be a DOHC 4.6 with a TKO600. I was considering the Redline standalone and the VeryCoolParts.com stack intake (8 throttle bodies). I may need to use a cobra intake for awhile.

Even the developer says it will work fine but all of his customers so far are going with the standalones.

He constructs GT40 and Cobra replicas locally. :D

The car I'm building will look much like the one featured below in Hot Rod. The last picture is the paint scheme I plan to use in honor of "Rapid Ray" Hendricks.

Same car back in the day. It's gonna run sweet and strong with the EFI 4.6 that "looks" like old time injection. ;)

I came up with the idea before the black car appeared in Hot Rod but never found a old racer to use. I sold an airplane about 6 months ago and the buyer's dad had several old cars in the way behind his shop. He has 3 sedans (ugly) and 3 coupes, 2 of the coupes are 35 Chevy modifieds. The dad has gone from I just want them hauled off to "they could be worth something".

I would just move on but the one I want appears to have raced against the "11" back in the day. I figure if he won't let it go by the end of the year, I'll modify a glass body to work.

I've been told the local ovals would love to have the car come out to do some pace car duty and maybe a fast lap or two. :o

Mine will differ from the black car in the chasis, I have a retired Howe chasis to fit the body to. It's not offset and my dad is getting impatient waiting for a body. He thinks the wheel base is fine but he can't wait to start cutting this thing up. The cage will be designed for comfort because the car will see street and drag strip use. It will also need 2 seats. 8-)

Patrick, This is Monty from Dothan. I'm also interested in a training workshop. I will be in Orlando at the end of october for World Street Nationals. So let me know if i can stop by for a few days. I will drive the focus down and we can tune on it.

For those of us that can not travel to Florida just yet. Any chance you could make a video of the classes? I would be more than happy to buy it, assuming it coved all the basics. And maybe so advanced stuff. And I'm sure I'm not the only one that would be interested.

I too would be interested in some video's that explain and demenstrate the software. Maybe two series, a basic series for intro stuff and advanced for the "fun" stuff.
What are the thoughts on this.... any?

I'd be in for any Sniper training products. A book of some sort would be AWESOME.

Obviously being in Oz, things would be filtered down through BPT (Oz distributor), but any Sniper training products would be well received I'm sure.
