Lean on light throttle

Post by CN67 » Mon May 21, 2018 2:26 pm

01 Mustang GT with Vortech V1 supercharger, I have the WOT tuned very good only problem I am having is idling around town the AF ratio goes way lean when cracking the throttle a little bit to accelerate/maintain speed. Which parameter do I need to change in the Commando software? Also which parameter to adjust for light throttle acceleration to highway speeds, it wants to stay 14.7 till enough throttle to go into open loop

You could decrease your low slope injector setting

If you’re max on Soecial Forces, you need to use the Commando software.

lowered low slope, now light to medium acceleration to hwy speed works great now. Still goes way lean (17:1 - 18:1) 25mph 1300 rpm and very slight throttle. I tried reseting the KAM and seems to have no change. This is a 5 speed and riding the clutch to take off also goes way too lean. Any more sugestions?

What size fuel injectors are you using?
What are your low and high slopes at?

47LB injectors high slope 56, low slope 37. Set in Special forces 50lb injector and it gave me low slope of 39 at max rich (1.5 Global PT) If I go lower than 37 low slope idle gets way too rich and still goes way lean cracking throttle at low speed

I disconnected the egr valve today and solved 1/2 my problem. still goes lean at light throttle but no longer bucks. Can Idle through town now. Might need to let the fuel trims learn a little bit and see what happens

EGR isn’t your problem, it’s the tune.

You have several options you can try, your choice.
You can adjust your Low Injector Slope more and then start adjusting your MAF Transfer Function for the rich idle you mentioned you were getting, or
you can change your Special Forces Fuel Injector Setting to 42lbs, adjust your Global PT, then re-adjust your WOT settings, or
you can try and figure out exactly where that lean spot is in the Transfer Function and adjust that spot.

Recon/data logging helps.
