 Tips needed...
Ok, very new to all this... Here's what I'm trying to tune, 99 Mustang GT, fresh PI 4.6 2v, HiTech Stage 2 cams, JLT RAI, Mac Longtubes, offroad H pipe, Flowmaster Catback, Auto Tranny, stock TB, stock MAF injectors and coils, running on 87 octane at 3450'
The gentleman I bought DF from created a base tune to work from, but I've had to adjust the idle to make it drivable and other than that it seems to run ok, although I've been kinda easy on the new motor. I can feel the difference in the way the tranny shifts but it seems like it wants buck and jerk when cruising about 50-60mph. It also seems like it shifts into 3rd and 4th to soon. I'm also hearing some detonation at crusing speeds under slight accelleration.
What are the best settings to keep it in gear a little longer between shifts? What are some ideal timing settings? Just looking for numbers to compare with where I am vs stock vs what others are running. Also, the car is a little hard starting, it has to turn over quite a bit before it finally kicks off....
I also bought the AF-5000, but I haven't installed it yet, hopefully tomorrow
Thanks...

What are the best settings to keep it in gear a little longer between shifts? The transmission shift schedule takes care of most of the shifting, move up a couple of miles on the low tps voltage, this will keep the car in gear longer. What are some ideal timing settings? You say there is detonation, back off the global 2-3 degrees and see where it likes it. Then compensate the high rpms on the detanation table.
