Error codes

Post by Lee » Mon Oct 01, 2007 1:22 am

My 7.3L's turbo has no wast gate,so I get some errors. P1249 Waste gate control valve performance, P1690 solenoid circut, P0475 exhaust pressure control valve, P0328 turbo/supercharger boost sensor A circuit high. What is the best way to stop these errors?

unfortunately i think you will have to keep your wastegage solonoid hooked up accept for the actual vacuum lines into and out of it. You also need to run a bleedoff valve on the MAP sensor to keep it from seeing overboost.
It doesn't appear we have the ability to turn off those codes in the given template and you have to keep the map sensor from seeing over 20lbs of boost so it doesn't de-fuel the engine....

Are you running an aftermarket turbo and injectors?

Stock injectors, Qssb turbo which has no wast gate. An yes I'm going to get injectors when I can afford them.

I don't know if its the same on diesels, but you are going to need to get either A) turbo with a built in wastegate or B) a turbo maifold that accepts an external gate. otherwise you will have horrible boost spiking.

Like I said, you may want to disregard that altogether if I am wrong when it comes to diesels, i just know thats how it works with gas vehicles.

diesels are a little bit different. If the turbo is sized properly you can control boost with the amount of fuel you pump in. And a little overboost isn't going to kill you motor like on a gas engine. The turbo he is running is good for high levels of boost as well....

Tryed to find the old parts, not much luck. I think there was a back pressure control valve and a wast gate control.
