Re: 04 F150 w/ 5.4

Timing refers to Ignition Timing on gasoline engines. This is when the mixture is lit and drives the piston downward. If you can do this sooner than stock you get more time to extract energy from the same amount of fuel. The limiting factor is fuel octane. You can get away with a little more with ch...

Re: New to Delta Force / commando Tuning Software

All is not what it appears on the roush tune.... cut that timing to about half of what it says in the tables....LOL

Re: New to Delta Force / commando Tuning Software

you can't copy the spark table into the roush tune..... the values look to be inflated because of altered spark parmeters elsewhere that reduce the overall spark output...

That's probably why your tuner wanted to start from scratch.... the timing tables look crazy on those tunes....LOL

Re: New to Delta Force / commando Tuning Software

try knocking down you manifold volume scalar a tick or two.... if that doesn't do the trick then send me your files....

I personally would have stuck to the roush tune because they always fix all the little drivability issues, but this can be fixed none the less...

Re: charge motion

i have successfully deleted the CMRC plates and if you give me more specifics on the intake diameter around the MAF element I might be able to get your MAF transfer correct as well without the "fooler" in place.

Drop me a PM if interested...

Make sure you use the .PCM file not the .TXT file.

Re: Can Special Forces Account for Ported and Polished Heads?

Cars with a mass air usually hold mixture pretty well after porting heads as long as that's the only thing that was changed.

Re: Anyone tunned a Turbo yet?

a supercharger with a set boost level is easier to tune for because it is always the same boost at WOT.... turbo can do alot of things at wot so it takes a bit more work to do it right but if you are creative you can develop tunes that automatically fuel and pull timing at various boost levels. Re: Tuning Knowledge = Power

If I have a wideband I do just like PMAS says and shut off all 02 feeback and tune via the open loop table. The long term fuel trims work well for scaling injectors and the MAF if you have a known good MAF transfer.

I would think you would know the most about stuff like this being intimate with MAF meters and all......lol My guess is that you have to start with the stock curve to get the trend of the electronics and scale l...
